BEAUTY MAKEUP

Facial anatomy, health and safety practises, skin care, correct use of
tools and products, principles of lighting and shading, colour mixing and blending,
application of bases, corrective make-up (contouring and face shaping), makeup techniques
for HD TV and Film.

FASHION MAKEUP

Techniques, product knowledge and fashion ‘eye’ for makeup on editorial
shoots, catwalks and commercial jobs.

Researching and creating period looks for film, TV, and theatre.

BODY PAINTING AND AIRBRUSHING

Researching and, developing designs and applying airbrush
makeup using sponges, brushes and airbrush techniques. Free-hand painting, shading and
blending, cutting stencils.

CASUALTY AND CHARACTER

Bruises, scars, open wounds, stitched wounds, grazes, cuts, burns
and blood effects. Dirt, sweat, and tears, maintaining an effect for continuity over time, illness,
spots, diseases, and track marks.

PROSTHETICS AND BALD CAPS

Theory of prosthetics and working procedures, health and safety
practises, mould making, sculpting, silicone run, application of prosthetic pieces with make-up
to achieve a finished look.

PERIOD HAIR AND WIGS

Blocking, setting, dressing, cleaning, and washing wigs. Researching
period styles including ringlets, spirals, pincurls, finger waves, and victory rolls.

FACIAL HAIR

Knotting facial hair, dressing and tonging moustaches, beards, and sideburns.
Application, maintenance, styling, and cleaning of facial hair.

HOLLYWOOD HAIR

Technically challenging styles such as red carpet hair, bohemian fashion
looks, braids, candy floss styles, coloured extensions and hairpieces.
